THIS SUMMER, local artist and filmmaker Michael Burkitt has been on a mission to find George!
In 1985, Scunthorpe Borough Council and the Lincolnshire & Humberside Arts Group commissioned a new public artwork by Glaswegian artist George Massey. For nearly 40 years, this unusual landmark has stood in Scunthorpe town centre—but how much do we really know about it?
Join us on a journey to uncover the story behind this forgotten piece of public art and the artist who created it.
