About fountain arts
fountain arts is a creative space in Scunthorpe, dedicated to making creativity accessible to everyone. We deliver exhibitions, workshops, and projects that support local communities, artists, and audiences to engage with creativity in meaningful ways.
The Role
We are seeking committed and enthusiastic individuals to join our Board of Directors. As a Director of fountain arts, you will help shape the vision, strategy, and sustainability of the organisation. This is a voluntary, non-executive role where you will contribute your experience, insight, and passion for the arts to support our development and growth.
Responsibilities

Contribute to the overall governance and strategic direction of fountain arts.

Act as an ambassador for the organisation, championing our work in the community and wider cultural sector.

Provide support, advice, and constructive challenge to the team.

Ensure that the organisation fulfils its legal, financial, and ethical responsibilities.

Attend quarterly Board meetings (3 online 1 in-person per year) and contribute to sub-groups or specific projects where relevant.
Person Specification
We are particularly interested in applicants who can bring skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

Arts and culture (including visual arts, performance, education, or community arts)

Finance, fundraising, or business development

Marketing, communications, or public engagement

Legal, HR, or governance expertise

Community development and local networks

fountain arts opened on Jubilee Way in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire in August 2022.
We want to create opportunities for creative people, or those who want to be.
One way we do this is by inviting proposals to use our project space.
The project space has expansive windows, natural light, Wi-Fi and a busy footfall.
Every application round a community panel will select projects to develop with the creative person/people who proposed them.

Who can apply:
Anyone who is creative and works in any discipline, culture, and background in North Lincolnshire.
What can you do:
New, in-development or existing projects are welcome.
We want to help develop exciting and innovative projects and if your proposal is selected by our community panel, fountain will work with you to make it a reality.
