Vin - Vincent Bull was a very talented musician.

He was very well known for performing his act dressed in ladies clothes. Including wigs and jewellery. He played in lots of venues in and around Scunthorpe and in fact all over the county. His flamboyant act proved to be very popular. He did lots for charity and played regularly at old people’s homes.

He was in the Guinness Book of Record’s for playing the Organ for 411 hours for charity, this took place in The Comet pub East Common Lane.

Whilst playing the organ one night in The Oswald (Tavern) on the High Street it was suggested by visiting soldiers that he should change his name to Vanessa - this was in line with his costumes. At the time Vanessa Redgrave was very popular so that is how his new identity was decided.

He could often be seen walking around Scunthorpe in the middle of the day all dressed up. He was even known to spray his little dog the same colour as his outfits. He used to shop for his outfits in local charity shops and the staff used to put stuff to one side for him. In his later years he could be seen behind the counter of the Scope charity at the top of the high street.
