MICHAEL BURKITT

Michael previously managed the Young Artist Programme for The Royal Drawing School and the first ever Art & Design Foundation in Latin America, São Paulo, Brazil. His belief in the power of creativity to ignite community motivates his continuing commitment to accelerating life changing creative experiences for all. In 2014 he opened 3irty2wo, a project space and artist studios in Scunthorpe.

Michael is an optimist. This creates lots of room for romance, failure, repetition, labour, humour and institutional critique in his artwork. Context-specific and site-responsive: he intends to make meaningful connections with audiences or individuals with ideas, objects, images, sounds and performances. ​
